Unattended death cleanup addresses what's left behind when a death goes undiscovered for a period of time – decomposition fluids, odor, and biohazard contamination that often reaches beyond the immediate area. It's one of the more involved jobs in this trade, since decomposition can affect flooring, subflooring, and sometimes structural material depending on how long it went unnoticed.
We receive these calls in Santa Fe, NM from family members, landlords, or property managers who've discovered a loved one or tenant passed away without anyone knowing for an extended period. The weight of this situation, both emotional and practical, is significant, and our role is to take the cleanup entirely off your hands.
We start with a full assessment, since decomposition contamination frequently extends beneath the visible surface into subflooring or wall cavities. Contaminated material is removed, and the space is treated with industrial-grade disinfectants and odor neutralizers, since decomposition odor typically requires more than surface cleaning to fully resolve. Air scrubbing runs throughout to clear the space of lingering particulates.
Cost depends significantly on how long the death went unattended, since that directly affects how far contamination and odor have spread.
If you're facing an unattended death situation in Santa Fe, NM, call (945) 378-5179 – we respond quickly and handle it with respect.
